Building a solid foundation at the Beach!

Take a sneak peak at one of our current projects on Sullivan's Island. The owner selected our Ashland Tumbled Dimensional Stone for the base of this beautiful beachfront home. The Ashland is a very unique limestone material laid as a sawn back veneer stone with sawn heights. It is a very user friendly product for the installer with very little waste. The colors of the stone blend in perfectly with the surrounding landscape. As this project comes together you will be able to see the creative vision of designer Courtney Bishop at this ocean view oasis.   J Brown (11)a J Brown (8)a J Brown (5)a J Brown (4)a J Brown (2)a J Brown (12)a

New Arrival - 08/13/2014

Weathered Fieldstone is a very unique product. This stone is hand gathered in the Smoky Mountains and sorted per size in baskets. The natural weathering from moss dirt and minerals gives it a beautiful coloration. Weathered fieldstone works well for stacked retaining walls, garden edgers and pond accents. Take a look at my how to guide on building a drystack wall http://www.fieldstonecentersc.com/how-to-build-a-drystack-tn-fieldstone-wall/ IMG_3953 IMG_3959a IMG_3958a IMG_3956a

Russ' Retirement

IMG_8783 We were able to say thank you this weekend to Russ Mason for all his hard work. Russ has finally decided that it is time to retire and enjoy life. Russ opened the Fieldstone Center of Charleston in 1998 with the Poynter Family. For 16 years he has built the Charleston office to where it is today. Russ can’t wait to spend more time down at his hunt club hunting and fishing. And when his wife Pat can track him down he plans to relax and spend time with his children and grandchildren. We really appreciate everyone coming to Salty Mikes on Saturday for his surprise party. I have attached some photos of the celebration. The week of July 28th is his last week at Fieldstone Center. Please stop by and show your appreciation and thank Russ for all the work he has done for our city and the stone industry as a whole. His take-offs are never off, his opinions are always direct and he is one of the most knowledgeable people I know in the stone industry. THANKS RUSS!   IMG_8774 IMG_8786 IMG_8790 IMG_8795 IMG_8797 IMG_8798 IMG_8800 IMG_8805 IMG_8807 IMG_8811

Start with a solid foundation

Our most recent truck of Sequatchie stone material included some large sheets of Variegated Flagstone. The larger material is very hard to come by and will move quickly. I have included some pictures below to show how you can use these large flagstone pieces to break up your space. These large pieces of stone are one of a kind! TTC Nursing Center

TTC Nursing It is only March and Fieldstone Center is hard at work completing the entrance paving at Trident Technical Colleges new school of Nursing. Located on Rivers Ave in North Charleston, the new $30M building is state of the art. The post and courier said "The project was paid for with a combination of local money from Charleston, Dorchester and Berkeley counties. Thornley first lobbied for the county governments to invest in the project in 2009." The three-story, energy-efficient facility was designed by LS3P Associates and constructed by China Construction America of South Carolina Inc. We helped add the finishing touches. Our Shawnee Rustic paving stone was used on the entrance walk and foyer of the building and it is sharp. We worked together with General Precast out of Moncks Corner who installed the paving on the project. You can see the rest of the post and courier article here. Take a look below at the wonderful work they did on the project. IMG_8086 IMG_8077 IMG_8082 IMG_8072

We are river "Rockin"

photo 2   Our latest arrival is small and tan and mostly round. Are you tired off mowing the grass with a weed eater in your ditch. These river rocks are perfect for a dry river bed. Place them along with some weathered fieldstone boulders and you will feel like you live in paradise. Our river rocks are sorted in several size categories. If you are planning a pond or waterfeature these round rocks are perfect to line the bottom of the feature or accent around the edges. Come take a look. photo 3 photo 1 Koenig - Jager (12) Koenig - Jager (16) Koenig - Jager (22)
